Questions, answered straight
Will it slow my site down?
The proxy adds roughly 20–40ms net on HTML pages (most of the round-trip is the origin fetch that happens anyway) and passes everything else — CSS, JS, images — straight through. The edge module and SDK run inside your own infrastructure and report out of band, so they add effectively zero response latency.
What do you read from my traffic?
An explicit allowlist, nothing more: ad click IDs, UTM parameters, our own cookie, user agent, country, and a hashed IP. Checkout email capture only runs on checkout paths, only by field-name allowlist. Passwords, card numbers, and tokens are structurally invisible — the parser cannot see fields it wasn't told to look for, and CI fails any change that reaches beyond the boundary.
What happens if Hyper Tracking goes down?
Your site stays up. The proxy has a two-layer safety net: if our tracking code throws, the request passes through untouched; if a whole worker fails, traffic is fetched directly from your origin. You lose a tracking event, never a visitor. The edge module and SDK swallow errors by design — tracking failure never delays a response.
Do I need a Cloudflare account?
No. For the proxy install you add one CNAME record at whatever DNS provider you already use — we handle SSL on our side. Or skip DNS entirely and use the edge module or the npm SDK.
Is it GDPR-ready?
EU traffic is ingested and stored in the EU. Consent gating fails closed — no consent, no signal leaves. DSAR endpoints, retention windows, and a signable DPA are built into the dashboard, and we generate the privacy-policy language your site needs during onboarding.
Does it work with Shopify?
Hyper Tracking is built for everything the Shopify-app trackers can't install on: ClickFunnels, GoHighLevel, Kajabi, WordPress, Webflow, and custom apps on Next.js or Express. Purchases are matched from Stripe order webhooks.
